Accidental deletion of parameter file

It is always a good idea to include the parameter file in your backups
but in the rare event of not having a backup and loosing the file,
there are various things you can do. Some of those would be:
-- Create a new init file and within that file all you have to do is
make sure that these parameters are set : db_name, control_files,
db_block_size and compatible. Once these parameters are set, you can
startup and open the database. Oracle will default the other values for
you.
-- Alternatively, you can reconstruct the parameter file by taking a
look at the the alert log for that database which will have all the non-
default parameter values listed and will be posted by oracle everytime
you did an instance startup.
-- Also, if you have statspack enabled for your database and have an
old report from it, that will have all of your parameter settings.
